Dr. Atul Luhadia's Significant Contribution at Pune National Chest Conference

Udaipur, Dr. Atul Luhadia, a renowned TB and chest disease specialist from Pacific Medical College & Hospital, Udaipur, was invited as a faculty member to the prestigious National Chest Conference, NAPCON, held in Pune. The conference saw participation from lung and respiratory disease experts from across the country, who engaged in detailed discussions on modern medical practices, the latest research, and treatment techniques.

During the conference, Dr. Luhadia participated in a panel discussion on Non-Tubercular Mycobacteria (NTM). He explained that this disease closely resembles tuberculosis (TB), but its causes and treatment process are different. NTM primarily affects patients with weakened immune systems or those with chronic lung diseases, such as bronchiectasis or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Dr. Luhadia emphasized that early diagnosis and appropriate treatment are crucial, as it can become a long-term, complex infection.

Additionally, Dr. Luhadia contributed as a subject expert in the Interventional Pulmonology Symposium. He shared valuable insights on diagnosing and treating foreign objects or tumors lodged in the lungs and respiratory system. He explained that modern bronchoscopy techniques allow for the safe removal of foreign objects (such as coins, food particles, plastic, etc.) from the airway without surgery. This technique is especially beneficial for children and elderly patients. Furthermore, he discussed the role of advanced bronchoscopy techniques in diagnosing and treating lung tumors.
