Cyclists Begin a 1447 Kilometer Message-Packed Journey from India Gate

Unique Initiative by Cyclists for Cleanliness Awareness

Udaipur: With the aim of realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Clean India, Healthy India,' two cyclists, Akbar Ali Bandukwala and Rishabh Jain, started their bicycle journey from India Gate in New Delhi to the Gateway of India in Mumbai on Monday. Through this journey, they aim to spread the message of cleanliness across the country.

Currently residing in China, Udaipur native Akbar Ali Bandukwala and Rishabh Jain are embarking on this bicycle trip with the theme 'Swachh Bharat - Ek Kadam Swachhta Ki Aur' (Clean India - One Step Towards Cleanliness) to raise public awareness. Their journey began on 20th January from India Gate in Delhi. To encourage and motivate them, Judicial Magistrate First Class, Shri Rishab Tanwar from the Tis Hazari Court in New Delhi, visited India Gate and wished them good luck. Shri Tanwar expressed that this noble cause needs to be spread across the entire country. 

Following this, at the Flag Off Ceremony at Bajibeen Park in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, Councillor Jagmohan Mahalawat from Vasant Kunj Ward and Councillor Dharmvir Singh from Krishna Puram Ward, South Delhi, also extended their best wishes to the cyclists. During the event, Rakesh Kothari announced a 'No Tobacco' campaign for school children starting in March, where bicycles will be awarded as first prizes in competitions to encourage a healthy lifestyle and prevent addiction. 

The event saw the presence of numerous cyclists, including Dharmvir Singh, cyclist Hriday Raina, Gaurav Wadhwa, President of the Delhi Bike Club, and Pooja Kothari. 

Akbar Ali shared that they will reach Kherwara in Udaipur via Bhilwara on 22nd January, where they will be honored at the DPS School in Udaipur. From there, they will continue their journey on 23rd January, heading from Kherwara to Nadiad. He mentioned that the total distance of 1447 kilometers will conclude on 26th January at the Gateway of India in Mumbai.
