Makar Sankranti Celebration: Reuniting Father and Son at Apna Ghar Ashram, Udaipur

On Makar Sankranti, Apna Ghar Ashram, Bedla, Udaipur, celebrated the sweet reunion of a father and son. On 27th September 2024, the rescue team at Apna Ghar Ashram, upon information provided by Shri Ramesh Singh Hazareshwar, rescued Vijay (alias Govardhan Bhai Prabhuji) from Court Chauraha, Udaipur. He was brought to the Ashram for service, medical treatment, and rehabilitation.

Ashram Secretary, Gopal Kaneriya, stated that after medical checks and continuous treatment, Prabhuji's health began to improve. Prabhuji shared that his home was in Banokheda, Kumbhalgarh, Rajsamand, but due to adverse circumstances, no information could be found about him from that village. During counseling by Ashram Incharge Sultan Singh and ADJ Kuldeepji Sharma, Prabhuji revealed that his two sons, Vinod and Kanhaiya, were running a dhaba and snack center in Bagoria Chawkdi, Vadodara, Gujarat.

Based on this information, Sultan Singh conducted an online search and connected with people in the Bagoria Chawkdi area. He sent Prabhuji’s photo and details about his sons, which eventually led to Vinod Bhai being informed of his father’s location at the Apna Ghar Ashram in Udaipur. On 15th January 2025, Vinod Bhai Khatik, along with his brother Ramesh Chand Khatik, arrived at the Ashram from Vadodara, Gujarat, to take their father home.

Son's Statement:
Vinod Bhai, the elder son of Prabhuji, shared, "Our father left home almost five months ago without informing us. He used to have arguments and fights at home, even living separately from our mother. We had made arrangements for him to stay in Banokheda, Rajsamand, but he left. We searched for him everywhere but couldn't find him. Today, we are relieved and grateful to Apna Ghar Ashram for informing us and reuniting us with our father."

Prabhuji's Statement:
Prabhuji Vijay (alias Govardhan Bhai) expressed his gratitude saying, "I will never forget Apna Ghar Ashram, where I received a homely atmosphere, food, and the kind service of the staff. I thank everyone here and send my best wishes."

After completing the formalities, Ashram President Suresh Vijayvargiya and Secretary Gopal Kaneriya performed a tilak ceremony and adorned Prabhuji with a shawl, sending him off with great joy to his home in Banokheda, Rajsamand, with his sons Vinod Bhai and Ramesh Chand Khatik.

This noble work of service was also supported by Ashok Kothari, Vishnu Prajapat, and all the service companions of the Ashram. So far, 77 Prabhujis have been reunited with their families, and currently, 48 Prabhujis are residing at the Ashram.
