Meeting of Various Agricultural Committees to Ensure Maximum Benefit for Farmers from Government Schemes

Udaipur: A meeting of the District Agricultural Development Committee, District Horticulture Development Committee, Crop Insurance District Coordination Committee, Crop Insurance District Dispute Resolution Committee, and ATMA Governing Council was held on Tuesday under the direction of District Collector Arvind Poswal and chaired by ADM (Administration) Deependra Singh Rathore. 

Initially, Joint Director of Agriculture (Extension) Sudhir Kumar Verma presented the progress reports of various committees and schemes through a PowerPoint presentation. ADM Rathore reviewed the progress point by point and provided necessary guidelines. He emphasized that the state government is implementing various schemes to empower the farmers (land sons) and directed that benefits of these schemes must reach every eligible farmer to strengthen them economically and socially in line with the state government's vision. 

The meeting discussed the status of sowing of rabi crops and input arrangements in the district. The ADM instructed to ensure the availability of fertilizers according to demand. Progress on various DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) schemes such as Farm Pond, Irrigation Pipeline, Agricultural Equipment Distribution, Vermi Compost Unit Installation, and Incentive Distribution for Students Studying Agriculture was also reviewed. 

The progress of Horticulture Department schemes such as drip irrigation, sprinkler systems, polyhouses, fruit orchard establishment, and solar water pumps was also discussed. Furthermore, provisions for Crop Insurance for Rabi 2024-25 were reviewed, and efforts to bring more farmers under the insurance coverage were highlighted. 

The meeting also discussed the activities under the ATMA scheme, including farmer training programs, exposure visits, and workshops. The meeting was attended by the ATMA project director, Assistant Directors of Agriculture from Girwa and Badgaon, Assistant Directors of Horticulture, as well as officials from the Revenue, Fisheries, and Cooperative departments.
