'Ramai' Reveals Untold Stories of Dr. Ambedkar
Mumbai, December 13 – Numerous films have depicted the life of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the Father of the Indian Constitution. However, the new film 'Ramai' explores uncharted aspects of his extraordinary journey. The film's premiere at Q Lab in Mumbai left the audience deeply emotional.
While Dr. Ambedkar is globally recognized for drafting a Constitution that guarantees unparalleled rights, 'Ramai' highlights lesser-known events and dimensions of his life.
The film marks the debut of Prerna Dhabarde and Dr. Uday Kumar on the silver screen. Prerna plays the titular role of Ramai, while Dr. Uday Kumar portrays Dr. Ambedkar. Veteran actor Raza Murad, who plays Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj, praised their performances, saying, “They didn’t just act but truly embodied their roles.” He also commended producer Krishna Chauhan and director Kabir Da for creating a masterpiece.

The film stars Prerna Dhabarde, Dr. Uday Kumar, Raza Murad, Omkar Das Manikpuri (as Natha), Ashok Deval, Sanjay Bansode, and Kanel Muneshwar. Pratima Mishra plays Fanny Fitzgerald, a close associate of Dr. Ambedkar in London.
Produced under the Prerna Films Universal banner, the movie is directed by Kabir Da and features a talented crew, including cinematographer Sumit San, art director Praveen Vasnik, sound recordist Babu Khamisa, editor Almas Khan, and music director Dinesh Arjuna. The film's background score is composed by Rajesh Bhisht, with songs sung by Vaishali Made and Suhasini Belonde.
