District Task Force Meeting Discusses Progress of Women and Girls' Schemes

Udaipur: A meeting of the District Task Force under the District Women’s Resolution Committee, One Stop Monitoring Committee, and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme was held at the District Collectorate Auditorium, chaired by ADM City, War Singh. 

During the meeting, ADM Singh supervised the District Women’s Resolution Committee and directed that a proposal be sent to the State Steering Committee to relocate the Women’s Safety and Counseling Center currently operating at the GRP Police Station to another location. He also issued instructions for the proper functioning of the One Stop Center in Salumber. Under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme, he instructed that awareness activities such as community outreach programs, adolescent girl exposure visits, and other initiatives be conducted, and directed the PC&NDT Coordinator to ensure effective monitoring and supervision to address the declining sex ratio in the district.

The meeting also featured a presentation by Kuldeep Sharma, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority and ADJ, who shared information about various provisions related to women’s safety. Police DSP Hitesh Mehta provided insights into the Rajcop Citizen App, which offers services related to women’s safety, helplines, and assistance. 

Sanjay Joshi, Deputy Director of the Women’s Empowerment Department, explained that a three-tier committee has been formed to address the safety and grievances of women working in unorganized and informal sectors in the state. The purpose of these committees is to provide women with a conducive, safe work environment and ensure that no woman faces emotional, physical, sexual, or economic exploitation at her workplace.

The meeting also reviewed the progress of Women’s Safety and Counseling Centers established in the newly selected police circles in Udaipur district. Instructions were given for necessary actions by the Social Justice Department for the rehabilitation of mentally disabled women and their dependents. Further, the dissemination of information regarding One Stop Centers, Women’s Safety and Counseling Centers at various police circles, and other offices was discussed. 

Officials present at the meeting included Ram Kishore Khadaw, Child Development Project Officer, Protection Officer Mrs. Manisha Bhatnagar, and others from various projects.
