Range-Level Award Ceremony Held During Security Sakhi Dialogue Fortnight

Udaipur: In collaboration with Udaipur Range Police and UNICEF, a range-level award ceremony was organized under the *Policeing for Care of Children* program, which focuses on child protection. The event was held at the Reserve Police Lines auditorium under the guidance of Inspector General of Police Rajesh Meena and Additional Superintendent of Police Harsh Ratnu, in line with directives issued by the Police Headquarters.

Security Sakhis, selected for their work in raising awareness on women and child safety, were honored during the ceremony. The selection of Security Sakhis was done across all police stations for their contribution to promoting safety and protection.

In his address, ASP Harsh Ratnu highlighted the importance of community policing and emphasized that women’s safety and child protection are key priorities for the police. He praised the selfless efforts of the Security Sakhis in ensuring women’s safety and child protection, describing them as a vital link between women, children, and the police.  

During the ceremony, ASP (Women’s Crime and Research Cell) Hitesh Mehta commended the work of the Security Sakhis and encouraged them to continue raising awareness at the community level. He referred to them as the first point of contact for women and children in distress.  

UNICEF’s Child Protection Advisor, Mrs. Sindhu Binujit, also shared valuable suggestions. The Security Sakhis took the opportunity to discuss key challenges they face while working alongside the police department.  

During the award ceremony, over 50 participants from various districts were honored for their commendable efforts in women’s and girls' safety. Police officers and UNICEF representatives presented mementos and certificates of appreciation. Among the attendees were Women Police Station Officer Sangeeta from Rajsamand, Inspector Gulab Singh from Reserve Police Lines, and the program's Akash Upadhyay, along with participants from all districts of the range.
