No Threat or Pressure on the Film Industry

India’s Freedom is Still in its Infancy: Annu Madan Kapoor

Udaipur (Dr. Muneesh Arora) – Film actor, TV artist, and singer Annu Madan Kapoor, after being awarded the honorary D.Litt degree by SPS University, stated in an interview that India’s freedom is still in its infancy. He believes that we still elect corrupt individuals to Parliament, which is why India’s freedom has not fully matured. He pointed out that we, as citizens, are more corrupt than the leaders we choose, and there is a lack of patriotism among the people. We elect corrupt leaders due to minor temptations, which is why India’s freedom is still in its early stages.

Annu Madan Kapoor also emphasized that there is a lack of patriotism among the people, and that public awareness needs to increase for the country’s freedom to mature. When asked about the threats the film industry faces, he explained that in the 1990s, political figures and the nexus of goonda-raj had a strong influence, but that era has passed. Now, the film industry faces no such threats.

Regarding the mockery of Hindu deities in the film industry, Annu Kapoor said it was foolishness on the part of the public to tolerate such childish actions from the film industry. He stressed that the public should not only boycott such films but also respond appropriately, as the film industry is a reflection of society. If society opposes it, the film industry will be forced to change its actions.

Annu Madan Kapoor also mentioned that his parents and patriotism come first. While receiving the D.Litt, he expressed his gratitude towards his parents and the land of India. He said that anyone who cannot respect their parents and their country cannot even think of respecting others. He added that this is the reason why the concept of "I before the country" has gained prominence in the nation today, and the level of concern for the country and patriotism is not where it should be.
