Dr. Charan Honored at 'Srijan-Samvad' Program

Kota: The *Srijan-Samvad* program was held at the Dr. S.R. Ranganathan Auditorium, Government Public Library, Kota, under the joint aegis of the Language and Library Department of the Rajasthan Government and the Mahakavi Suryamall Meesan Literary Research Readers’ Forum.

On this occasion, renowned poet-critic, the pioneer of modern Rajasthani theatre, and the coordinator of Rajasthani language at the Sahitya Akademi, Professor (Dr.) Arjundeo Charan, captivated the audience with his literary address and poetry recital, leaving everyone deeply inspired.

Dr. Charan, a distinguished writer, engaged in an extensive discussion on the understanding and use of words in literature, in the presence of prominent literary figures from Kota. He encouraged the younger generation to come forward and contribute to Rajasthani literature, stating that the future of youth in Rajasthani language and literature is very bright and secure. He emphasized that western education has distanced us from our language and cultural traditions, and it is our duty to reconnect the coming generations to their roots.

Dr. Charan further explained that in today’s world, between systems and technology, language is facing its greatest threat. He referenced the poet Ushna from *Shreemad Bhagavad Gita*, whose teachings have faded from our memory, and discussed Kabir's paradoxes as part of the ancient Indian knowledge tradition. He also presented new interpretations of literary consciousness based on episodes from the *Mahabharata* and *Bhagavad Gita*. He concluded by stressing that continuous study always brings out new insights.

At the event, Dr. Charan was honored in the traditional Rajasthani style by the Regional Library Director Dr. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, along with other senior literary figures. The program’s organizer, renowned Rajasthani poet Om Nagar, shared that the *Srijan-Samvad* series is a platform for understanding the thoughts of Rajasthani poets, which enriches society with their ideas over time. 

Dr. Gajsingh Rajpurohit, Head of the Rajasthani Language Department at JN Vyas University, was the chief guest at the event.

Other notable attendees included Dr. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Regional Library Director; senior Rajasthani poets Mukut Maniraj, Vishwamitra Dadhich, Ambikadatt Chaturvedi, Kishan Lal Verma, Dhansu Annu Singh Dakhad, Ashwini Tripathi, Dakhad Bhagat Singh, Khushwant Mehra, Kuldeep Vidyarthi, Jamunashankar Suman, Purnima Jaiswal, and many more.
