Banswara,– The Manchavrat Chaturthi fast, a tradition steeped in faith and devotion, will be celebrated across the Vagad region on Tuesday, November 5, with great enthusiasm. The Vanehwar Mahadev Temple, home to three self-manifested Shiva lingams, will be filled with devotees offering special prasad to Lord Shiva. This centuries-old fast is observed across the region as a means to fulfill wishes and prayers.
Eighty-eight-year-old, devout Shiva devotee, Shri Shantilal Bhavsar (Guruji), has made an invaluable contribution to this tradition. For the past 62 years, he has conducted the Manchavrat Chauth story narration, benefiting thousands of devotees. Every Monday, devotees gather at the temple to hear the tale of Manchavrat and seek fulfillment of their desires.
**Specialty of Manchavrat and the Prasad Tradition**
The prasad ritual of Manchavrat involves making laddoos with 4 kilograms of flour, 1.25 kilograms of pure ghee, and 1 kilogram of jaggery. This offering is divided thoughtfully: one portion for Lord Shiva, another for ants, a third for children, a fourth for herdsmen, and the remainder for the devotees' families. This custom embodies the message of welfare for both humanity and nature.
