Udaipur, : Hindustan Zinc's "Sakhi Project" marked a significant milestone by disbursing INR 6 million in microloans to women-led self-help groups (SHGs) in Javar, Udaipur. This event, organized at the Javar Mines Community Center, witnessed the partnership of Rajasthan Marudhara Gramin Bank (RMGB) and over 225 Sakhi SHG members receiving loans aimed at strengthening their financial independence and livelihoods. The initiative is a testament to Hindustan Zinc's commitment to fostering rural and tribal women’s socio-economic empowerment.

Through the Sakhi Project, 225 women from the Sakhi Shakti Federation in Javar were awarded microloans by RMGB, Titdi branch, signifying a dedicated effort to bolster economic resilience in rural and tribal communities. The Sakhi Project, in collaboration with the Manjari Foundation, has been a pioneer in connecting rural women with banking and financial services, encouraging them to participate in livelihood activities that foster self-reliance. As part of Hindustan Zinc's larger CSR initiative, Sakhi focuses on sustainable, women-led livelihood models and has mobilized thousands of women across the villages around Javar Mines.

The event was attended by notable figures, including RMGB’s Udaipur Regional Manager, Kamlesh Kumar Gupta, and Titdi Branch Manager, Roshan Lal. Both commended the Sakhi women for their financial discipline and dedication, reaffirming their commitment to supporting them through various credit and banking facilities. Encouraging these women to pursue sustainable livelihood activities, the managers promised ongoing assistance to foster their growth and financial literacy. In attendance were representatives from Girwa Block, local village panchayats, and nearby police officials, showcasing the broad community support for the initiative.

Over 150 women from Javar Mines and nearby villages attended the event, underscoring the widespread community participation and support for the Sakhi Project’s mission.
