Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar's Initiative to Promote Girls' Education and Digital Revolution

Udaipur : Under the leadership of Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, trustee of the Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation, efforts are being made to promote technological innovation in girls' education. In collaboration with A. & K. India Travel Company, Dr. Mewar has donated 10 computer sets to the Government Girls Higher Secondary School at Jagdish Chowk, Udaipur. Recognizing the need for a digital revolution in girls' education, these computers were provided along with internet facilities to empower and skill girls digitally.

This initiative is seen as a significant step towards the progressive development of society. In addition to the computer sets, free internet service has also been made available for one year. The foundation, with the help of A. & K. India Travel Company, has also undertaken repairs and painting of the school.

Principal Ruchi Parik of the girls' school mentioned that in line with the legacy of the Mewar Maharajas' commitment to education, Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar paid the annual fees for the girls studying at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in 2023.

The first school in the state was established during the reign of Maharana Shambhu Singh (1861-1874) and was named Shambhuratna School, inaugurated in January 1863.

**Renovation and Development of the Government School:**
As part of the "Education in Udaipur" project, the Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation has initiated the preservation and enhancement of the school building. Considering the historical ties between the school and the Mewar family, the foundation took on various renovation and modernization projects upon the request of school officials, completing these in three phases in 2015, 2016, and 2017.
