###Faculty Development Program Launched on Outcome-Based Education: Paradigm Shift in Higher Education

Bhilwara: As part of an unprecedented initiative in the realm of transformative approaches in higher education, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), Sangam University has established the AIU-Sangam University - Academic and Administrative Development Center (AIU-AI-ADDC) under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The Director and Nodal Officer of the center, Professor Preeti Mehta, explained that the primary objective is to conduct short-term professional development programs for faculty members and specialized training programs for administrative officials of member universities, focusing on the use of technology and the adoption of blended learning methods.


In this context, the inaugural session of the Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Outcome-Based Education was held from October 14 to 18. This program is being conducted in a hybrid mode, with the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Manas Ranjan Panigrahi, highlighting that 56 educators from nationally renowned institutions are participating in this FDP.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Karunesh Saxena, emphasized the importance of implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) based on OBE and stated that the aim of this pioneering program is to revolutionize higher education by adopting OBE and ensuring a student-centered approach.

The Chief Guest, Ranjana Parihar, Joint Secretary of AIU, New Delhi, shed light on the necessity of OBE-based pedagogy and the objectives behind the establishment of the ADDC. Dr. Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General of AIU, New Delhi, also extended his best wishes for the success of the program.

A total of nine sessions will be conducted in this FDP, featuring various experts. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Karunesh Saxena, discussed different aspects of outcome-based education in the first session and addressed questions related to online and offline topics.

Professor Preeti Mehta concluded the inaugural session with a vote of thanks. Professor Rajiv Mehta congratulated the organizing team for this initiative, while Dr. Seema Kabra anchored the inaugural session.
