Udaipur Students' Basketball Team Honored After Winning Gold Medal at State-Level Competition
Udaipur: The girls' basketball team from Udaipur district made history by securing the first position in the state-level basketball competition for under-14 girls, winning the gold medal for the first time. The entire team, along with their coach and team manager, was welcomed and honored today at the office of the District Education Officer for Primary Education.
District Education Officer Nanihaal Singh Chauhan and Deputy District Education Officer Prabhanjana Ghoghna presented awards to all the players, commending their achievement. They remarked that the team’s victory has brought pride not only to the education department but also to the entire Udaipur district. They congratulated the players and wished them success in upcoming national competitions.
Captain Meghashree Shekhawat was awarded the title of Best Player of the state-level basketball competition. The team coordinator Praveen Jain, coach Payal Kumawat, and team manager Deepa Jhala were also honored during the ceremony.
District Sports Committee Secretary Yugal Kishore Sharma, along with Deputy Secretary Deepak Bhanawat and member Balveer Singh Rathore, congratulated the winning team and extended their best wishes.
Coach Payal Kumawat shared that the Udaipur team performed exceptionally well, winning all their league and super league matches. She expressed pride in Meghashree receiving the Best Player title. The team comprised players Meghashree, Hiyanshi, Krishna, Ahana, Dhani, Viveena, Bhargavi, Hiyasha, Dhruvika, Bhavini, Janhvi, and Charvi, who showcased their talent through teamwork.
District Education Officer Nanihaal Singh emphasized that by winning the gold medal, the girls have set a milestone in the sports history of Udaipur district. He expressed confidence that the selected students from Udaipur will excel in the national competition and further elevate the pride of both the district and the state.
