Rajasthan Assembly to Go Paperless Next Session: Assembly Speaker Shri Devanani

Udaipur . Assembly Speaker Shri Vasudev Devanani announced that the Rajasthan Assembly will be completely paperless starting next session, with technical work underway in the house to facilitate this transition.

Speaking at a press conference at the Circuit House during his Udaipur visit, Shri Devanani informed the media that each MLA will be provided with an iPad at their desk, and additional iPads will be given to legislators so they can engage in assembly-related work from their residences. The paperless system will allow all processes, from asking questions to providing answers, to be conducted online. Moreover, the assembly will begin providing quick access to proceedings on USB drives when members speak in the house.

He noted that the Rajasthan Assembly is functioning comparatively well, with over 92% of the questions posed by legislators in the previous session answered. To ensure timely responses to future queries, letters have been sent to senior officials in all departments.

### Focus on Accountability of Committees

Speaker Shri Devanani emphasized the need to enhance accountability within the various committees of the assembly. Meetings have been organized with all stakeholders, and letters are being sent to reinforce this focus. He stated that many tasks are managed by committees when the house is not in session, and the goal is to ensure regular meetings with active participation from members to address public issues efficiently.

### Highlighting Legislators' Good Work in the House

Shri Devanani mentioned that to promote positive and constructive topics, an initiative was launched in the last session allowing legislators to speak about the good work done in their areas. Some members have already shared their achievements, and this practice will be encouraged in future sessions to keep the house informed and inspire further good work.

### Success of the Assembly Public Interaction Initiative

Shri Devanani remarked that there has been a historical distance between the assembly and the general public. To bridge this gap, the "Assembly Public Interaction" initiative has been launched, which includes opening the assembly museum to the public while ensuring all security protocols. Over 7,000 people have visited the museum in the past six months. The tourism department is also promoting this initiative in its brochures, and schools and colleges are being informed to encourage more visits, allowing people to learn about the assembly's illustrious past.

Shri Devanani expressed hope for the future of democracy, noting the commendable performances by youth during the recent youth parliament program held in the assembly, where many raised significant public interest issues and responded well to questions while playing the role of the ruling party.

### Maintaining the Dignity of the House is a Collective Responsibility

Speaker Shri Devanani stated that maintaining the dignity of the assembly is a collective responsibility of all members, both from the ruling party and the opposition. He also appealed to the media to highlight positive developments more prominently.

India Emerging as a Global Peace Messenger

Shri Devanani remarked that amidst global tensions, India is emerging as a peace messenger. Historically, India has guided the world, and it continues to be looked upon for peace and goodwill.

### Need for Regional Passport Offices in Udaipur and Ajmer

In response to a journalist's question, Speaker Devanani mentioned the significant tourist influx in Udaipur and Ajmer, particularly due to destinations like Pushkar and the Ajmer Dargah. He emphasized the need for regional passport offices in both locations to better serve the public.
