### MPUAT becomes First to Implement New Education Policy

Udaipur Maharana Pratap Agricultural and Technology University has made history by becoming the first university in India to implement the recommendations of the New Education Policy (NEP). During a grand event titled “Diiksharambh 2024,” held at the Rajasthan Agricultural College’s auditorium, the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Ajeet Kumar Karnataka, announced the rollout of these transformative changes for newly admitted students.

The event was graced by Dr. Rakesh Chandra Agarwal, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Education) of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), who officiated the launch. Over 500 first-year students from Udaipur, Dungarpur, and Bhilwara districts attended the ceremony, marking a significant step toward high-quality education in agriculture.

Dr. Agarwal emphasized the importance of a stress-free learning environment, encouraging students to pursue education with joy and enthusiasm. He highlighted that the NEP aims to prepare students to tackle both national and global challenges. The initiative, a culmination of nearly four years of effort since the committee's formation in 2021, seeks to transform India into a "knowledge society."

Dr. Agarwal noted that the recommendations from the Sixth Dean’s Committee have been compiled into a comprehensive document and stressed that passion and vision are more important than formal educational qualifications, citing examples of successful individuals who have made their mark with limited schooling.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Karnataka praised the university's achievements, including the acquisition of 25 patents by its scientists in 2024, underscoring the institution's commitment to organic and natural farming. The event also featured calls for the construction of student hostels, as voiced by various deans and directors.

As part of its commitment to modern education, the university also inaugurated smart classrooms in the Electrical Engineering Department, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and interactive teaching resources, further enhancing the learning experience.

In a related initiative, a Millet Hut was inaugurated to promote the cultivation and consumption of millet, vital for both health and local traditions. The event showcased various millet-based products and emphasized the importance of these grains in rural and urban communities.

With these groundbreaking initiatives, Maharana Pratap Agricultural and Technology University is poised to lead the way in educational reforms, fostering a new generation of skilled agricultural professionals ready to face the future.
