Rajasthan's Royal Luxury Train Palace on Wheels Ranks First in Condé Nast Luxury Train Survey

New Delhi/Jaipur: Rajasthan's super luxury train, Palace on Wheels (POW), has been awarded the title of the world's best luxury tourist train. This year, it secured the top spot in the Condé Nast Luxury Train Survey.
According to Pradeep Bohra, Director (Operations & Management) of Palace on Wheels, the train had ranked second last year. However, under the leadership of Bhagat Singh Lohaghar, the Managing Director of the company operating the train, improvements in the train's facilities have propelled it to the top this year.
Bohra explained that the Condé Nast Readers' Choice Awards 2024 conducted a survey among people worldwide, where Palace on Wheels emerged as the first. The survey included the top 20 luxury tourist trains globally. This year, three Indian trains, including Palace on Wheels, made it to the top 13. The Golden Chariot secured the 11th position, while the Maharajas' Express, operated by IRCTC, ranked 13th. Bohra emphasized that world-class facilities have been developed under the direction and supervision of the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC), leading to outstanding feedback from tourists.
RTDC Managing Director Sushma Arora expressed her delight at the royal train being chosen as the world's best luxury tourist train. She stated that the royal train is a prestigious project for the tourism corporation and is monitored regularly. Special attention is given to ensuring that tourists receive five-star facilities and royal hospitality. This commitment has led to the recognition of the royal luxury train as the best luxury tourist train.
Arora noted that for the past 42 years, Palace on Wheels has been recognized as a cultural ambassador for Rajasthan and India.
