Celebration of Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti at Agricultural University Udaipur

Udaipur: The Directorate of Student Welfare at Maharana Pratap Agricultural and Technology University celebrated the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri with a ceremonial floral tribute at the College of Dairy and Food Technology. 

The Chief Guest, Honorable Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka, highlighted the inspiring words of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. He emphasized that the efforts made by these leaders in securing the nation’s independence and progress should be recognized by the younger generation. In his address, he illustrated the significance of Gandhi's Non-Cooperation Movement and the principles of non-violence, while also discussing the important contributions made by Lal Bahadur Shastri, particularly in promoting the Green Revolution to make India self-sufficient in food production.

Dr. Manoj Mahla initiated the ceremony by draping a shawl over the Chief Guest and presenting a bouquet of flowers. The special guest, Lokesh Gupta, Dean of the College of Dairy and Food Technology, was welcomed by Dr. Arun Goyal. Another distinguished guest, Dr. B.L. Baheti, was welcomed by Dr. Lokesh Gupta, and the Student Welfare Officer, Dr. Manoj Mahla, was welcomed by Dr. Kamlesh Meena. 

In his welcoming remarks, Dr. Mahla highlighted the lives of Gandhi and Shastri, shedding light on their exemplary contributions to the nation’s independence. Special guest Dr. Lokesh Gupta urged the students to draw inspiration from the lives of Gandhi and Shastri, emphasizing the importance of honoring these great personalities, whose mere remembrance invigorates us. He asserted that adopting their ideals would lead to immense satisfaction.

Dr. Baheti spoke about the importance of a healthy body, addressing the students on nutrition, hard work, and contributions to agriculture. He connected Lal Bahadur Shastri’s slogan "Jai Jawan Jai Kisan" to modern lifestyles by adding "Jai Vigyan," emphasizing the integration of science into agriculture.

Students from the College of Dairy and Food Technology also presented a biography of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, along with performances of songs associated with their teachings. 

Among the attendees were Deans Dr. Dhriti Solanki (CCS) and Dr. Anupam Bhatnagar (CTAE), DPM Dr. Sunil Joshi, Research Director Dr. Arvind Verma, OSD Dr. Virendra Nepal, and others. The ceremony was conducted by students, and Engineer Kusum Meghwal offered the vote of thanks.
