70th Wildlife Week: Educating Young Minds on Wildlife and Environmental Importance

Udaipur . The 70th Wildlife Week commenced on Tuesday, featuring a range of activities organized by the Green People Society in collaboration with Ankit Public Senior Secondary School and Akashdeep Academy at the Ankit Public School campus in Pratap Nagar.

The chief guest, Dr. Kamlesh Sharma, Joint Director of the Department of Information and Public Relations, inspired students to observe and understand the animals and natural landscapes in nature through a story. Retired IFS officer Rahul Bhatnagar, President of the Green People Society, shared the significance of celebrating Wildlife Week with the students. The school director, Pradeep Sukhalwal, educated students about the contributions of each individual towards wildlife conservation. V.S. Rana, a member of the Green People Society, explained the importance of the food chain, emphasizing that the extinction of any single component can impact the entire chain. Retired Deputy Forest Conservator Sohel Mazboor elaborated on the students' contributions to preserving the environment and wildlife.

The program began with a welcome address by the local school director, Pradeep Sukhalwal. Among the attendees were retired Deputy Forest Conservator Pratap Singh Chundawat, APRO Vinay Sompura, and a large number of students and parents.

### Winners Recognized

During the event, students participated in various competitions, including painting, essay writing, and general knowledge quizzes. In the painting competition, Janvi Suyal secured the first position, followed by Lakshraj Singh Devra in second place. In the essay contest, Lipika Sharma won first place, with Harshita Salvi taking second. The general knowledge competition saw Chanda Rebari, Gayatri Meghwal, Kajal Jhala, Shailesh Khatik, and Chanchal Meghwal emerge as winners. All winners were honored by the guests.

### Children’s Enthusiasm on Display

The children's enthusiasm for the event was palpable, with many dressed as various wildlife animals such as tigers, deer, elephants, giraffes, and kangaroos. The students showed great eagerness to learn about wildlife and the environment. The event featured a photo exhibition and video presentations aimed at further engaging the children with environmental awareness.
