Producer-Director Rajiv Rai Makes a Grand Comeback with the Murder Thriller 'Zora'!

Producer-director Rajiv Rai, known for blockbuster films like *Tridev*, *Vishwatma*, *Mohra*, and *Gupt*, is making a sensational return to the Indian film industry with his murder thriller *Zora*. Discussing the making of his latest film, Rajiv Rai shared, "I have completed the shooting for *Zora*, and the post-production is currently in full swing and nearly finished. What sets this film apart from my previous works is that it does not feature any big names or stars. Instead, it showcases forty new faces selected from Northern India, and there’s only one song composed by Viju Shah. I have made this film on a very low budget. As a producer-director, I challenged myself to create a highly engaging film despite the modest budget, aiming for it to be my best work yet.

While the budget may be low, I have not compromised on storytelling or technical aspects. I have made this film for the common audience, who we now refer to as 'single-screen cinema viewers' or 'mass audience.' I believe that it is primarily the common people of the country who go to the cinema. If you observe, you’ll find that I have never worked with top stars of my time, like Amitabh Bachchan. When I signed Sunny Deol and Jackie Shroff for *Tridev*, they were known stars, but their previous films had not performed particularly well at the box office. Naseeruddin Shah was mostly part of art films back then, yet the film succeeded.

When I cast Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty for *Mohra*, they were rising stars. I signed Bobby Deol for *Gupt* even while his first film *Barsaat* was still being shot. However, these actors later became major stars. I discovered talents like Sangeeta Bijlani and Arjun Rampal and played a significant role in advancing the careers of emerging actresses like Sonam and Divya Bharti. I have always been attracted to new talent and have never hesitated to work with newcomers. *Zora* is also a pure commercial mass entertainer. The script did not allow for many songs, so I included just one, according to the film's needs. I have made no compromises in its making. It is a powerful, stylish, and entertaining film. I am confident that *Zora* will be well-received by audiences."

In the '80s and '90s, producer-director Rajiv Rai's name and his banner Trimurti Films Private Limited were forces to be reckoned with. His films had a unique formula—catchy dialogues, two or three heroes and heroines, thrilling gunfights, stunning cinematography, sound effects, lavish sets, helicopter shots, and hit songs—providing ample entertainment for the common audience. This is why whenever his films were released, viewers flocked to theaters. However, due to certain circumstances and personal reasons, Rajiv abruptly stopped making films and settled abroad. But a renewed love for his country, along with his unmatched creativity and passion for Hindi films, compelled him to return to India. As a result, his stylish, entertaining, suspenseful murder thriller *Zora* is set to reach audiences soon. Rajiv Rai is currently excited about the film and is working hard to release it by the end of this year.
