### Dr. Tripathi Receives Prestigious Geospatial Award
Dr. Lokesh Kumar Tripathi Honored with National Geospatial Faculty Fellow Award by IIT Bombay
*Bhilwara:* Dr. Lokesh Kumar Tripathi, Associate Professor and Head of the Geoinformatics Department at Sangam University, has been awarded the prestigious National Geospatial Faculty Fellow Award by IIT Bombay. The award was presented on 15th September 2024, during the National Geospatial Awards 2024 (Edition 01) on the occasion of Open Source GIS Day.
This event is part of a free/open-source software project for education, initiated by IIT Bombay under the National Education Mission of the Government of India. The National Geospatial Awards aim to recognize professionals who have made significant contributions to the advancement of geospatial technology in India.
The event celebrated the use of open-source geospatial and GIS tools, highlighting innovators in this field. In the inaugural edition of these awards, Dr. Tripathi’s exceptional leadership and contributions to geoinformatics were acknowledged, marking him as a thought leader in the academic and professional geospatial community.
On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor of Sangam University, Professor Karunesh Saxena, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Manas Ranjan Panigrahi, and Registrar Prof. Rajeev Mehta commended Dr. Tripathi, noting that this award reflects his dedication and passion in the field of geoinformatics. His efforts align with the national goals of integrating cutting-edge geospatial technologies into education and research.
