Udaipur, September 21, 2024: NIMS University's Pro Chancellor, Prof. Amarika Singh, visited the Hindustan Zinc Football Academy located in Zawar Mines, Udaipur. During his visit, he reviewed the international-level training infrastructure at the academy and praised its excellence.
A productive meeting took place between Hindustan Zinc & Vedanta's CSR Head, Mrs. Anupam Nidhi, and Prof. Amarika Singh, during which they discussed football player admissions, housing, and training policies under NIMS University’s "Outright Sports Policy." Both parties deliberated on the selection process for players and future possibilities, agreeing that players selected with the collaboration of Zinc Football Academy would have access to excellent training programs at NIMS University.
Present at the meeting were Dr. Kuldeep Singh Jhala, Secretary, Sports Board NIMS University; Mr. Chetan Mishra, CEO of Football Link Sports Private Limited (implementation partner); Mr. Akash Narula, CEO of Vedanta Zinc Sports Foundation; along with Zinc Football Academy’s coach and manager Mahaveer Sharma, Anoop, Dr. Govind Upadhyay, Ashutosh Singh, and other officials.
During the academy visit, Mr. Akash Narula introduced Prof. Amarika Singh and the delegation to various aspects of the academy.
In discussions between Prof. Amarika Singh and Mrs. Anupam Nidhi, it was decided that NIMS University would collaborate with Zinc Football Academy under the "Outright Sports Admission Policy" to select players, granting them benefits such as admissions, housing, sports training, and coaching, particularly in the field of professional football.
Dr. Kuldeep Singh Jhala, Secretary, Sports Board, NIMS University, noted that the players selected by Zinc Football Academy will play a crucial role in the successful organization of the North West Zone Inter-University Football Tournament.
As a result of this visit, it is expected that the collaboration between NIMS University and Zinc Football Academy will provide new opportunities for Indian football and offer a great platform for talented players to develop their skills.
