Collector Poswal Amazed by 50-Year-Old Newspapers at Information Center

Udaipur – During the inauguration of the book exhibition, District Collector Arvind Poswal visited the Information Center's archives and was astonished to see newspapers and magazines dating back 50 years. He described the collection as remarkable and praised the efforts of Joint Director of Public Relations, Dr. Kamlesh Sharma, as "excellent work." The Collector directed the development of a detailed action plan for their preservation and digitization.

Upon arriving at the Information Center, Poswal toured the reading room and library, expressing satisfaction at the large number of students preparing for competitive exams. He also inspected the open-air theater in the center's premises, which had undergone development work by UDA. Dr. Sharma informed the Collector that this theater is quite old and had hosted the filming of a song from a guide film made in the 1960s. Poswal was intrigued by this revelation.

### "Excellent Work" on Archive Inspection

While inspecting the archives, Collector Poswal was impressed by the neatly bound files of old newspapers and magazines dating from 1976 to the present. He expressed astonishment at the well-preserved collection of 50-year-old black-and-white newspapers and praised the management's efforts for their preservation, referring to it as "excellent work." He emphasized the need for complete preservation and digitization of these important documents and instructed Dr. Sharma to prepare a comprehensive proposal for preservation and the development of a smart library.

Assistant Public Relations Officers Vinay Sompura and Jayesh Pandya were also present during the visit.
