PMCH Performs Life-Saving Procedure, Removes Chickpea-Like Fragments from Patient's Lungs

Udaipur: A medical team from the Respiratory Department at Pacific Medical College & Hospital successfully conducted a groundbreaking procedure, extracting chickpea-like fragments embedded in the lungs of a 54-year-old woman. The intervention provided a new lease of life to the patient.

The Udaipur resident, Badi Devi, faced a critical situation when chickpea fragments became lodged in her throat while laughing during a meal, resulting in a choking sensation and continuous coughing. Due to the severity of the issue, her family brought her to Pacific Hospital, where Pulmonologist Dr. Sunil Kumar examined her.

Upon initial assessments, the medical team discovered blockage in the lower part of the right lung, resembling chickpea fragments. Dr. Sunil Kumar and his team performed a bronchoscopy, using a scope to examine the lungs. The procedure successfully identified and removed the chickpea-like fragments in small pieces, bringing relief to the patient. Badi Devi was discharged from the hospital in a completely healthy condition.

The patient's family expressed gratitude to Chairman Rahul Agrawal and the entire team at Pacific Hospital for their prompt and efficient medical intervention, leading to the successful recovery of their loved one.

This medical breakthrough showcases the hospital's commitment to excellence and life-saving procedures, contributing to the overall well-being of patients.
