Every Department Must Play Its Role in Ground-Level Voter Awareness: Kirti Rathore

In Udaipur, the Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad and the in-charge of the Swachh Prakoshth, Kirti Rathore, emphasized the importance of every department actively participating in spreading the message of voting down to the grassroots level. She addressed a review meeting of the Voter Awareness Campaign at the district Panchayat auditorium on Friday.

Kirti Rathore stressed that the voting date for the 2023 State Assembly Elections, which is November 25, is fast approaching. In previous elections, Udaipur district had a lower voter turnout compared to the state average. However, this time, it is crucial to significantly increase voter participation. She emphasized that every department should take their responsibilities seriously and actively engage in conveying the message of voting to the grassroots level.

Rathore noted that the responsibility does not rest solely with an individual or a department; it requires teamwork. She pointed out that particular attention needs to be given to the 1125 booths in Udaipur district where the voter turnout was below the state average in previous elections. More focus is required on these booths.

She also encouraged the use of social media groups and various methods to reach as many people as possible. The Municipal Corporation was instructed to collaborate with sanitation workers, contractors, and others to promote door-to-door voting and set up information stalls at Diwali fairs.

Instructions were given to the Panchayati Raj department to ensure that every NREGA site in the district administers the oath of voting to laborers and conveys the voting message to each laborer through a meeting before November 25. The department was also advised to motivate PM Awas beneficiaries for voting through telephone or SMS.

The Social Justice and Empowerment Department was tasked with sending messages to all pensioners using pensioner data, conducting programs in hostels, and coordinating with industries and laborers to ensure the voting message reaches them efficiently.

The Information and Public Relations Department of Udaipur was directed to share the prepared Sweep Bulletins e-paper and Sweep Video Bulletin among various departments and interest groups.

During the meeting, progress reports and necessary directions were reviewed in various departments, including Education, Agriculture, Sports, Animal Husbandry, College Education, Technical Education, Panchayati Raj, Women and Child Development, and others. Punit Sharma, the district's Sweep and Prabhari, presented reports on activities conducted in the district so far.
