Preparations Underway to Ensure Maximum Voter Turnout in Upcoming 2023 Assembly Elections

*Udaipur, India - District Election Officer Urges All Voters to Check Their Names on the Voter List via Mobile App: Special Campaign to Be Launched in the District*

As the 2023 Assembly Elections approach, District Election Officer Arvind Poswal, under "Mission 75," has called a meeting with all relevant officials, including those from the Sweep Division, to ensure the highest possible voter turnout. During the meeting on Saturday, Poswal emphasized the need to raise awareness among voters regarding the voter list released on October 4.

For the upcoming Vidhan Sabha (Assembly) elections in 2023, a separate voter list has been prepared. Poswal urged every voter to verify their names on the list to avoid complications. To facilitate this, a special campaign will be launched in the district over the next two days. During this campaign, voters will be encouraged to download the Voter Helpline app on their mobile devices and check their names in the voter list. This effort aims to prevent any issues related to missing names on the list.

Poswal stressed that for those who still do not find their names in the voter list, the deadline for applying is October 27. The processing of these applications will lead to the release of an updated supplementary voter list.

In addition to this, he provided the following directions:

1. For areas with historically low voter turnout, the officials will make concerted efforts to raise awareness and increase participation.
2. A seven-day "Saptarangi Saptah" (Rainbow Week) will be celebrated as a part of the Democracy Festival from November 16 to November 22. Each day, different awareness programs targeting various groups of voters, such as youth, women, and senior citizens, will be organized.
3. Poswal emphasized that time is running out, and it's crucial to start planning at the micro-level. It was suggested to engage school children to help voters fill out affidavits, utilize the services of NSS, scouts, guides, NGOs, and other social organizations.
4. Coordination with Anganwadi workers, ANMs, and personnel from 21 different departments was stressed to ensure effective mobilization and voter awareness.
5. Poswal urged everyone to encourage voters to reach the polling booths on November 25, emphasizing that the booth-wise turnout will be an important factor.

The meeting ended with a commitment to continuing the sweeping activities that are already in progress across the district. Activities such as the Garba festivals are being used to raise voter awareness.

Various departments and officials, including Kirti Rathore, the head of the Sweep Division, and CEOPunit Sharma, are involved in these efforts to spread awareness through Nagar Nigam garbage vehicles.

Poswal also urged all voters to check their names in the voter list by downloading the Voter Helpline app on their mobile phones. He stated that individuals can also contact the respective BLOs for assistance. He reminded that the deadline for applications for those who do not find their names in the list is October 27, after which an updated supplementary voter list will be released.
