Resounding Chants of 'Jai Jai Gurudev' Reverberate at Uttam Seva Dham

Thousands of Guru devotees gathered at Uttam Seva Dham, situated on Udaipur Road, Janamadeodi, as they celebrated Guru Purnima in the presence of the enlightened sage, Maharshi Uttam Swami. The grand festival witnessed the participation of not only the locals but also Guru devotees from various districts of Rajasthan, as well as neighbouring states such as Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Uttarakhand. Throughout the day, the place was bustling with a vibrant fair, and the 'Jai Jai Gurudev' chants echoed across the ashram. Devotees flocked to seek the blessings of Guru Dev, Maharshi Uttam Swami, and many took initiation (Gurudiksha) on this auspicious occasion.

Take Refuge in the Heart of the Guru: Uttam Swami

Addressing the gathering at the organized spiritual assembly on Guru Purnima, Maharshi Uttam Swami, while being addressed by Panch Agni Akhada's Mahamandaleshwar Ishwaranand Maharaj, stated that the essence of a Guru is the attainment of the self. He emphasized the continuous pursuit of self-realization and highlighted the indispensability of a Guru in human life, stating that there is no comparison to the Guru's significance. He compared the flow of thoughts to the sacred river Ganga brought by the Guru. He urged everyone to approach the Guru not only with their minds but with their hearts. He also advised that the search for a True Guru should reside within us, and once we find a True Guru in life, we attain everything we seek. He further explained the role of a Guru, saying that just as a mother carries her child in her womb for nine months, a Guru safeguards life throughout its journey. He emphasized the necessity of an enlightened Guru for attaining the Supreme.

The Guru is Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh (Shiva):

Maharshi Uttam Swami explained the eternal emotions described in Indian culture related to a Guru, stating that a Guru creates the values of life within the minds of individuals, similar to how Brahma creates. The Guru guides the seekers in every circumstance, just like Vishnu, and helps in eradicating the six vices within oneself, enabling one to live a holy life, similar to Mahesh (Shiva).

Offering for Knowledge: Guru Dakshina

On this occasion, Maharshi Uttam Swami announced that the sum received as Guru Dakshina would be utilized to educate impoverished and needy students. He provided insights into the ongoing educational and academic activities of Uttam Swami Shikshan Sansthan and the Vishal Vidyalaya in Salaknapur, Sihor district, Madhya Pradesh. He firmly believed that providing quality education to underprivileged students holds greater significance than constructing new temples. The devotees supported this noble cause by chanting, "Jai Kārā Gurudev, Jai Gurudev."

Placing Hands at the Feet of the Guru:

During Guru Purnima, as Maharshi Uttam Swami ascended the stage, devotees present reverently placed their hands on their hearts and then touched his feet, expressing their deep reverence. On this occasion, Maharshi Uttam Swami made a unique request as Guru Dakshina. He asked his disciples to offer their one flaw, weakness, or wrongdoing as their Guru, Dakshina.
