Udaipur, Following a special preventive campaign against illegal liquor under the directives of Excise Commissioner Shivprasad Nakate, the Kherwara Excise Enforcement Team carried out a major operation, seizing a large consignment of illicit liquor destined for Gujarat. Acting on a reliable tip-off, the team intercepted a truck container on Udaipur–Ahmedabad National Highway 48 near the Kharbar area and recovered 225 cartons of Haryana-manufactured liquor, estimated to be worth Rs. 20 lakh.
Excise Inspector Jitendra Singh Rathore stated that the operation was conducted under the zero-tolerance policy for illegal liquor. The consignment, concealed under paper rolls, included multiple brands such as Royal Challenge Whisky (750ml, 375ml, 180ml), Royal Stag Whisky (750ml, 375ml, 180ml), All Season Whisky (750ml, 375ml, 180ml), and Magic Movement Grain Vodka (750ml).
The truck driver, Saurabh from Mevat, Haryana, was arrested at the scene, and the vehicle was seized. Legal proceedings have been initiated under applicable laws.
The enforcement team included Excise Inspector Jitendra Singh Rathore, Rahul Sharma (Excise Inspector, Dungarpur), Kailashchandra Yadav (Praharadhikari, Kherwara), Lakshman Singh Jhala (Guard), Jamadar Mangilal, and constables Shankarlal, Mannalal, Banshilal, along with the EPF team of Kherwara.
