Six-Day AICTE-ATAL Sponsored National Faculty Development Programme Concludes at Rajasthan Vidyapeeth
Udaipur: Integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into teaching, research and academic activities has become essential in the rapidly evolving technological landscape. Teachers must acquire knowledge of the latest AI technologies and utilise them to prepare students for future challenges. This was stated by B.L. Gurjar, Chancellor of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth, during the concluding ceremony of a six-day National Faculty Development Programme (FDP) sponsored by the AICTE-ATAL Academy.
The offline programme was organised by the Department of Computer Science and IT at Rajasthan Vidyapeeth. Its central theme was “AI-Driven Pedagogy: Transforming Computer Applications through Generative AI and Practical Applications.” Subject experts from different parts of the country acquainted faculty members and research scholars with the latest AI technologies, tools and their practical applications.
Effective Use of AI in Teaching and Research Essential
Presiding over the valedictory ceremony, Chancellor and Kulpramukh B.L. Gurjar said that the knowledge acquired during the six-day programme should not remain limited to individual learning but should also be reflected in teaching, research, departmental activities and the overall development of the university.
He emphasised that, considering the rapid pace of technological advancement, teachers must effectively and meaningfully integrate AI into their teaching methodologies.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Manju Mandot stated that continuous developments in AI make it essential for teachers and research scholars to regularly update their knowledge and skills.
She highlighted the academic discussions on research papers and high-impact research literature conducted during the FDP, stating that these sessions fostered meaningful academic dialogue among participants.
Describing the programme as beneficial for teaching and research, she extended her best wishes to all participants for their future endeavours.
Extensive Discussions from Machine Learning to Quantum AI
FDP Coordinator Dr. Chandresh Kumar Chhatlani presented a detailed report on the six-day programme.
He informed that experts provided training on a wide range of contemporary topics, including the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Large Language Models, Deep Learning, Neural Networks, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision and Prompt Engineering.
The programme also covered AI-based curriculum development, Python-based AI frameworks, TensorFlow and PyTorch, the role of AI in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, ethical AI, bias mitigation, data privacy, responsible AI, AI research methodologies, automated assessment and grading, Quantum AI and next-generation communication technologies.
Industrial Visits Connected Training with Practical Applications
As part of the programme, participants undertook industrial visits to JK Lakshmi Cement Works, Manderia Mines and the limestone mines at Daroli.
During these visits, participants observed various industrial activities and operational processes firsthand, gaining insights into the practical applications of technical knowledge.
Before the conclusion of the programme, a mandatory multiple-choice questionnaire was conducted for all participants, who participated enthusiastically.
