Udaipur: The College of Dairy and Food Technology, Udaipur, observed the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri with reverence and enthusiasm.
The programme began with Dr. Siddharth Mishra, Dean of the college, paying floral tributes and garlanding the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mishra said Gandhi’s principles of truth, non-violence and cleanliness continued to remain relevant, while Shastri’s simplicity, sacrifice and inspiring call of “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” continued to inspire citizens towards national service. He urged students to imbibe the ideals and values of both national leaders in their daily lives.
Faculty members, employees and students paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri and remembered their contributions to the nation. A cleanliness drive was also organised as part of the celebrations.
The programme concluded with the participants pledging to follow the ideals of the two great leaders and make active contributions towards cleanliness, discipline and nation-building.
