Pledge Programme Held at College Under Drug-Free India Campaign

Udaipur : A pledge programme was organised at the College of Community and Applied Sciences, a constituent college of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur, under the Drug-Free India Campaign. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encourage collective efforts towards building a drug-free society.

Students, teachers and staff members took a pledge to stay away from drugs and contribute towards making society drug-free. The pledge was administered both offline and online through the My Bharat portal.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Vikramaditya Dave, Student Welfare Officer, MPUAT, said that substance abuse affects not only individuals but also their families and society as a whole. He emphasised the need to go beyond discussions and actively spread awareness about the harmful consequences of drug abuse.

Dr. Sarla Lakhawat, Dean of the College, said that substance abuse has adverse effects on an individual’s health, family and society. She encouraged young people to stay away from drugs and focus on education, sports, creative activities and positive thinking. She added that every citizen has an important role to play in building a drug-free society.

The programme was attended by Dr. Renu Mogra, Dr. Vishakha Singh (ADSW), Dr. Rupal Babel, Dr. Hemu Rathore, Dr. Sumitra Meena, guest faculty members and students.

The programme was conducted by Dr. Monica Rai, Programme Officer, National Service Scheme (NSS) of the college.

At the conclusion of the programme, all participants pledged to spread awareness against substance abuse and actively contribute to the creation of a drug-free society.
