Udaipur: Paras Health Udaipur has received two awards at the Rajasthan healthcare programme ‘Arogyam – Ek Kadam Sehat Ki Ore’, which focused on the theme ‘AI and Robotics: The New Future of Healthcare’. The hospital received the ‘Excellence in Healthcare in South Rajasthan’ award, while Dr Ashish Singhal, Consultant, Orthopaedics, was honoured with the ‘Excellence in Robotics in Orthopaedics’ award.

The awards recognise the hospital's contribution to healthcare delivery in South Rajasthan, particularly in expanding access to specialised medical services and advanced treatment facilities. Dr Vaishali Bodele, GM and Business Head of Paras Health Udaipur, received the award on behalf of the hospital.

The recognition also brings attention to the growing application of technology in specialised medical treatment. In orthopaedics, robot-assisted procedures, particularly in joint replacement surgery, are increasingly supporting surgeons in pre-operative planning and achieving greater precision. However, clinical assessment, surgical expertise and individual patient requirements remain central to treatment decisions.

Anubhav Sukhwani, Facility Director, Paras Health Udaipur, said the awards reflected the hospital's efforts to strengthen its healthcare services and incorporate technological advancements into patient care.

"Technology has an important role in specialised medical treatment, but it must be supported by clinical expertise and an understanding of each patient's requirements. Our objective is to combine medical knowledge with appropriate technological solutions to provide quality and patient-focused healthcare," he said.

Dr Singhal also participated as a panellist in a discussion on ‘AI and Robotics in Healthcare’ during the programme. The discussion explored the expanding role of artificial intelligence and robotic technologies in clinical decision-making, surgical planning and treatment delivery.

The panellists also discussed the importance of maintaining clinical judgement and medical expertise while adopting emerging technologies to ensure safe and effective patient care.

The two awards recognise the hospital's contribution to regional healthcare services and its work in specialised treatment, while highlighting the increasing role of technology in modern medical practice.
