Collector Poswal Flags Off Family Welfare Awareness Van

Udaipur:  As part of the Family Welfare Program, the formal launch of the Family Planning Awareness Communication Van was held on Friday. District Collector Arvind Poswal flagged off the van from the Collectorate premises. On this occasion, Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr. Shankar Bamaniya, Additional CMHO Dr. Ragini Agarwal, DPM NHM Sadakat Ahmed, and UNFPA advisors Mohammad Hussain Bohra and Manish Kumar were present.

CMHO Dr. Shankar Bamaniya explained that the communication van will tour remote villages in the district to raise awareness about the importance of family planning. The van will provide information about the benefits of family planning and the services available through audio-visual presentations, posters, and videos. The aim of this initiative is to motivate the general public to adopt safe family planning methods and increase awareness on this subject.

**Promotion of “Khulke Ke Poocho” Chatbot**

The van will also promote the UNFPA India-developed WhatsApp-based chatbot, “Khulke Ke Poocho,” aimed at providing accurate information about sexual and reproductive health, particularly to young people. This interactive platform allows users to ask questions without hesitation, offering them reliable and confidential answers. The chatbot aims to raise awareness among youth, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health and rights. This initiative focuses on promoting sexual education and dispelling myths and misconceptions.

Dr. Bamaniya further explained that the primary objective of this campaign is to raise awareness in areas where there is limited knowledge about contraceptive methods and newer contraceptive options. The communication van will educate communities about the benefits, use, and availability of contraceptives, helping improve family planning awareness in these underserved areas.
