National Seminar on IPR, Patents at Sangam University

Bhilwara: A National Seminar on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Patent, and Design Filing, supported by DST Rajasthan, was organized at Sangam University, Bhilwara. The seminar commenced with a traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony, followed by an insightful session on IPR awareness and security. 

Professor Rakesh Bhandari shared in-depth information about IPR, emphasizing the importance of intellectual property rights, the filing process, and technology transfer. He highlighted how IPRs play a significant role in safeguarding innovations and fostering growth.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Girdhari Lal Garg, in his address, connected the concept of IPR to the Vedic period and stressed that intellectual property rights not only improve lives but also inspire self-competition and facilitate positive changes in society.

In the technical session, Professor Manas Ranjan Panigrahi, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Sangam University, delivered a lecture on Open Educational Resources (OER) for enhanced learning and research. He focused on the use of the Creative Commons symbol and its applications. 

Following this, Vice Chancellor Prof. Karunesh Saxena spoke on industrial property, literacy, and artistic works, explaining how intellectual property rights promote innovation and creativity. He also acknowledged the efforts of Dr. Pankaj Sen and Dean Prof. Dr. Preeti Mehta from Sangam University, whose hard work made the seminar a success.

The seminar, which will continue until March 29, 2025, aims to provide researchers, academicians, and industry experts with detailed insights into patent filing and design protection, ultimately encouraging innovation and research.
