Pacific MBA Students Shine in National Management Simulation Competition

In the 28th Simulation Management Games organized by the All India Management Association (AIMA), New Delhi, Pacific MBA students showcased exceptional performance, with two teams reaching the semifinals at the national level. Dean Prof. Dipin Mathur shared that five teams from the Pacific Faculty of Management participated in this prestigious national competition, and two of them secured spots in the semifinals. These teams were led by Dr. Narendra Singh Chawda.

The competition, held at Delhi School of Business, New Delhi, witnessed participation from 48 teams from renowned management institutions across Northern India. The students who participated were second-year MBA students from Pacific Institute of Management, including Harshit Pawar, Zulfiqar Ali, Yashu Dikshit, Rajdeep Singh's team, and Sameena Bohra, Ashnika Sharma, Jagrati Pandey, Akshat Jain's team, both of which secured the first position in the regional competition, advancing to the semifinals.

This two-day competition was conducted in five stages, and the winners were selected based on the team that earned the most profit.

Dr. Narendra Singh Chawda, Coordinator of the Pacific Center for Simulation, explained that the Pacific Center for Simulation is a unique center in the country that helps students make business-related decisions in a simulated environment. In management simulations, each managerial team represents a hypothetical enterprise and makes decisions across various business areas in a simulated environment. Decisions regarding production, marketing, finance, and pricing strategies are recorded in AIMA’s specialized software called 'Chanakya.' Based on these decisions, computer-generated options are presented to the participating teams, who then make a series of decisions in a sequence, just like a real management team would in an actual business. The final outcomes of the simulated enterprise are presented by the computer software, and based on these results, the winner and runner-up teams are determined.
