Udaipur: In a presentation on rainwater conservation at the Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences, Umarda, Udaipur, Water Hero Dr. P.C. Jain shared how 150 crore liters of rainwater can be saved annually by utilizing the rooftop rainwater harvesting system on the campus. He explained the technology of Devas Water Filter and emphasized that such an initiative would improve both the quantity and quality of groundwater while preventing water evaporation during the summer months.
Dr. Jain highlighted that by increasing the water table by just one meter, the electricity consumption would decrease by 0.4 units. He mentioned that the saved rainwater could prove to be a boon for the university, saving millions of rupees otherwise spent on purchasing water. He also expressed that his visit would only be meaningful if a rooftop rainwater harvesting system is implemented, urging everyone with the slogan, "We will stop the water from the sky, increase the water from the earth, and mix rainwater with groundwater."
In addition, Dr. Jain addressed the harmful effects of alcohol consumption on the body during his PPT session. He discussed how each organ is affected and suggested treatments for these ill effects, particularly for the future doctors in attendance.
