Udaipur: A rainwater conservation program was organized at Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Udaipur, where Water Hero Dr. P.C. Jain gave a presentation on rainwater harvesting. He explained that 150 crore liters of rainwater can be saved annually through the campus rooftops, which can be directed into existing tubewells.

Dr. Jain elaborated on the Dewas Water Filter technology, emphasizing that harvested rainwater improves both the quantity and quality of groundwater while preventing evaporation losses during summer. He also highlighted that a 1-meter rise in the water table can reduce electricity consumption by 0.4 units. This pure rainwater would be a blessing for the university, saving lakhs of rupees spent on purchasing water.

Dr. Jain urged the installation of a rooftop rainwater harvesting system, stating, "My visit will be meaningful only if this system is implemented." He encouraged everyone to conserve rainwater with the slogan:
"Stop the rain from draining away, recharge the groundwater, and blend rainwater into the earth."

Measures to Quit Alcohol

Dr. Jain also conducted a session for senior doctors and interns, presenting a detailed PPT on the harmful effects of alcohol on every organ and explaining treatment options for its adverse impacts.

Event Highlights

  • Dr. Suresh Goyal (Principal) welcomed Dr. Jain.

  • Dr. Dilip Pareek hosted the session.

  • PIMS Managing Director Naman Agarwal appreciated the rainwater harvesting process.

  • Vice-Chancellor Dr. Prashant Nahar praised the event’s success.

The program was attended by faculty members, heads of departments, principals from affiliated institutions under Sai Tirupati University, resident doctors, interns, and MBBS students from various batches.
