Udaipur. The third season of the PIMS Mewar Cup, being held at the Field Club Ground in Lake City, continued with exciting matches on Tuesday. Udaipur Cricket Academy and Udaipur Warriors won their respective matches. This season, the Mewar Cup will feature international, national, and IPL players hitting boundaries and sixes on the field. Following the successful organization of the PIMS Mewar Cup last year, the third edition is being organized under the patronage of PIMS Hospital Umrada and Miraj Pipe & Fitting.
Organizers Naman Agarwal and Kuldeep Ameria shared that in the T20 competition held at Field Club, in the first match of the day, Udaipur Cricket Academy posted a total of 236 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Delhi Challengers' Himanshu Sharma took 4 wickets and Yashovardhan took 3 wickets. In response, the Delhi Challengers managed only 203 runs, losing all their wickets. Uwais Ahmed scored 82 off 32 balls, and Tany Tyagarajan contributed 33 runs. Himanshu Sharma was named the Man of the Match.
In the second match, Udaipur Lakecity Warriors set the highest score of the season, scoring 301 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Priyansh Arya scored 99 off 31 balls, Upendra Yadav contributed 66, and Samarth Vyas added 48 runs. In reply, Mewar Tourism Club only managed 199 runs in 17 overs. Sachin scored 55 off 24 balls, and Tejendra Dhillo made 51 runs off 18 balls. Samarth Vyas was awarded the Man of the Match for taking five wickets.
During the match ceremony, Aryan Bansal, the promoter of Liberty Shoes, was the chief guest and presented the "Man of the Match" awards to the players.
In another update, international cricketer and Indian team wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma has arrived in Udaipur. He will play with the Liberty Team on Wednesday.
The competition features teams from Liberty, PIMS, MPC, Delhi Challengers, Udaipur Lakecity Warriors, Udaipur Cricket Academy, Adityam Real Estate, and GR Cricket Academy. International cricketers like Deepak Hooda, Rahul Chahar, Navdeep Saini, Ravi Bishnoi, Rajat Patidar, Yash Dhull, Suyash Prabhu Desai, Ayush Badoni, Jitesh Sharma, and Ashutosh Sharma will also showcase their skills with both bat and ball. A lucky draw will be held daily, and the winner of the final lucky draw will receive an electric scooter. The winning team will be awarded five lakh rupees, while the runner-up will receive three lakh rupees. The first six matches will be played at the Field Club Ground, while the semifinals and final will be held at Miraj Cricket Stadium in Nathdwara.
