Seven-Day NSS Camp Promotes Community Service

Udaipur:  A seven-day National Service Scheme (NSS) camp was successfully held at the Community and Practical Science College, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), from March 22 to March 28, 2025. The camp was inaugurated on March 22 by Dr. Dhriti Solanki, Dean of the college, and Dr. Manoj Kumar Mehla, Officer of Student Welfare, who lit the ceremonial lamp to begin the event.

Dr. M.K. Mehla, the chief guest for the event, addressed the NSS students and emphasized the primary objective of NSS: to develop the personality of students through community service and create awareness in society. He urged the students to participate actively in social welfare programs and work towards the betterment of the community with dedication.

Dr. Dhriti Solanki, the college dean, motivated the students, highlighting the NSS motto "Not Me But You," which reflects the essence of democratic life and the need for selfless service. She emphasized that the camp provided an excellent opportunity for the youth to engage in various community service activities, helping them develop a sense of social responsibility.

Dr. Monica Rai, the Program Officer for NSS at the college, outlined the various activities that took place during the camp. Seventy volunteers participated in the week-long camp, engaging in community service programs, including a cleanliness drive on campus, a rally for drug de-addiction, and street plays aimed at raising awareness in villages. Additionally, expert lectures on topics like yoga, meditation, water conservation, life skills, first aid, and CPR were conducted throughout the camp.

Honorable Vice-Chancellor of MPUAT, Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka, also addressed the volunteers, emphasizing the critical role of youth in shaping a developed India. He highlighted that youth are the backbone of the country and have an important responsibility in nation-building.

The camp concluded on March 28, 2025, with Dr. Dhriti Solanki distributing certificates to the volunteers for their participation in the various activities.
