Udaipur. Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka, the Vice Chancellor of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT) Udaipur, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Vice Chancellor of Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU) Jodhpur. A letter issued by Dr. Prithvi, Secretary to the Honorable Governor of Rajasthan, stated that Dr. Karnataka will assume all responsibilities of the Jodhpur University until a permanent Vice Chancellor is appointed or until further orders.
Dr. Karnataka has made several remarkable contributions during his two-year tenure as the Vice Chancellor of MPUAT. Prior to this, he served as the Vice Chancellor of two other universities: Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Uttarakhand Horticulture and Forestry University, Bharsar, Uttarakhand, and Doon University, Dehradun. During his career, he has published numerous booklets and research papers. He established the Apis Mellifera bee species in the Terai region and developed management practices for its farming, which has significantly increased the income of farmers through the production of honey, wax, and other bee products. This initiative has also improved productivity in cross-pollinated crops. Additionally, he has been honored with several international and national awards for his contributions.
