Products made by women trained under the All India Coordinated Agricultural Women’s Research Project of the Directorate of Research at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology were launched by Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka, Honorable Vice Chancellor. Dr. Arvind Verma, Director of Research, provided details about the project, mentioning that it is working on five different projects aimed at making rural women self-reliant in agriculture and agriculture-based activities. To achieve this goal, training sessions are being held in various villages.
Project Coordinator Dr. Vishakha Bansal shared that women from Bambori in Pratapgarh district and from Loyra and Brahmon Ki Hundar villages in Udaipur were trained in various skills, including making peanut chikki, protective clothing for women in agriculture, and producing devotional items such as incense sticks, dhoop sticks, etc., from flower waste. Efforts are being made to link these trained women with income-generating opportunities.
On this occasion, the project’s scientists Dr. Hemu Rathod, Dr. Vishakha Singh, Dr. Sumitra Meena, and Young Professionals Dr. Kusum Sharma, Dr. Vandana Joshi, Dr. Sneha Jain, Miss Anushka Tiwari, and Miss Deepali were also present.
