Udaipur : A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUT), Udaipur, and the Heartfulness Meditation Institute to organize free programs for the personality development, inner growth, self-confidence, and spiritual development of students and staff throughout the academic session. This agreement will be valid for a minimum of 5 years or until further extension. The MoU was signed by Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka, Vice Chancellor of MPUT, and Dr. Rakesh Dashora, Coordinator of the Heartfulness Center, Udaipur.
During the event, Dr. Rakesh Dashora explained the Heartfulness Campus Program, stating that the Heartfulness Institute is a non-profit spiritual organization that teaches the art of maintaining a happy and peaceful mind through heart-based meditation, bringing lasting changes in behavior and thought. The institute will organize free personality development programs for the students and staff of the university through the Heartfulness Campus Program.
In his speech, Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka emphasized that this collaboration will serve as a milestone in providing training to students and staff to keep them stress-free and more energetic. He also mentioned that the university has signed MoUs with more than 28 international and national renowned institutions in the past two years, including Western Sydney University, Australia, and Central Luzon State University, Philippines.
He highlighted that due to the university’s exceptional research and publication of academic papers, its H-index has reached an all-time high of 77. He also mentioned that the university was awarded the First Chancellor's Award by the Honorable Governor and has been ranked at the top among state-financed universities for its smart village outreach programs. The university is currently engaged in a variety of educational, research, and extension programs in areas such as agriculture, horticulture, forestry, soil and water conservation, animal husbandry, fisheries, women and child development, and agricultural engineering.
Through this collaboration, the issues related to human resource development can be effectively addressed with a focus on spiritual and personality development. Dr. Arvind Verma, Director of Research at MPUT; Dr. Sunil Joshi, Director of Planning; Dr. Ram Hari Meena, Controller of Examinations; Dr. Subodh Sharma, Heartfulness Trainer and former PRO; and volunteer Ms. Ranjana Sharma also attended the event.
Under this MoU, the following programs will be organized as part of the Heartfulness Campus Program over the next five years, based on the requirements:
1. **Staff Training: Wellness at the Workplace** – A 3-day workshop for staff to teach how to work in a stress-free and joyful environment at the university.
2. **Faculty Training** – A 3-6 day program to provide training for offering heart-based excellent education through Heartfulness meditation techniques.
3. **HELM Program (Heartfulness Enabled Leadership Mastery)** – A 16-week program for students to teach life skills.
4. **Heartfulness Meditation Workshops** – A 3-day practical workshop for general administration, ground staff, students, and parents.
5. **Inner Competence Workshop** – A 3-day well-being workshop for students and faculty members, focusing on living a stress-free and joyful life by connecting with the inner self.
Several other student-focused beneficial programs will also be organized. Heartfulness trained facilitators will offer their services free of charge for these initiatives. Additionally, other community-centric programs may also be organized through the collaboration between both institutions.
