Udaipur, The Directorate of Extension Education, MPUAT, Udaipur, concluded its 15-day Retail Fertilizer Dealer Certification Training with a ceremony attended by prominent dignitaries. Chief Guest, Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, emphasized the critical role of fertilizer dealers, asserting that this training transforms them from mere sellers into agricultural advisors or “doctors.”

Dr. Karnataka encouraged participants to serve farmers with dedication by providing timely and accurate advice, thereby acting as change agents in agriculture. He urged dealers to build direct connections with farmers, promoting modern agricultural techniques to enhance productivity and income. Stressing the importance of lifelong learning, he highlighted the principles of Learn, Unlearn, and Relearn as vital for achieving professional excellence. Participants were advised to stay updated with the latest agricultural innovations and maintain contact with university scientists for guidance.

Dr. R.L. Soni, Director of the Directorate of Extension Education, spoke about the importance of balanced fertilizer use and soil testing. He highlighted the benefits of Soil Health Cards, integrated nutrient management, organic farming, and sustainable agricultural practices. Dr. Soni shared practical methods for improving fertilizer efficiency and explained the significance of crop diversification and sustainable farming methods.

Dr. Latika Vyas, Training Coordinator, informed that 30 participants from districts such as Udaipur, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Banswara, Dungarpur, and Salumbar attended the program. They received theoretical and practical knowledge on fertilizer certification from university scientists and state agricultural officers. Dr. Vyas encouraged trainees to extend the benefits of this training to farmers.

During the valedictory ceremony, certificates and training materials were distributed to participants by the Chief Guest. Trainees shared their experiences, expressing gratitude for the valuable insights gained. The event also witnessed the participation of Dr. S.K. Intodia, Krishna Sharma, Kailash Mali, and Hima. Dr. Rajeev Bairathi concluded the program with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all attendees.
