Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Agricultural Product Processing and Value Addition

Under the All India Coordinated Women’s Agricultural Research Project, a training session was conducted for women in Bambori village, PS Chhoti Sadri, Pratapgarh, as part of the project "Promoting Gender Equality through Technological Interventions and Entrepreneurship Development." The focus of the training was on the entrepreneurial possibilities in garlic and peanut products.

Project leader Dr. Vishakha Singh explained to the women that there is a significant market demand for value-added products like garlic powder, chutney, flakes, pickles, peanut chikki, oil, and more. These agricultural products are available at low prices in their villages as raw materials, making them ideal for profitable entrepreneurial ventures. Dr. Singh emphasized that they would be trained to acquire the necessary skills through the training program.

Scientist Dr. Sumitra Meena provided guidance on product packaging, labeling, and maintaining cost records. The event was attended by Sarpanch Mrs. Pushpa Devi and progressive farmer Mangilal Ji. The session was conducted by Ms. Deepali Chandwani.
