Udaipur. The birth anniversary of India’s first female teacher, Savitri Bai Phule, was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Mohanlal Sukhadia Auditorium, Town Hall, Udaipur. The event was organized under the joint auspices of the Department of Social Empowerment and Justice, Sarv OBC Samaj Maha Panchayat Trust, and the Savitri Bai Phule Environment and Education Institute.
Narendra Poorbia, spokesperson for the Sarv OBC Samaj Maha Panchayat Trust, shared that all guests paid their respects by offering floral garlands at the picture of Savitri Bai Phule. 149 female teachers and 18 talented girls were honored for their outstanding contributions, with shawls draped around them and Savitri Bai Phule literature and mementos presented.
The event was chaired by Prof. Sudha Chaudhary. The chief guest was Motilal Sankhla, with distinguished guests including Dinesh Mali, Lokesh Chaudhary, Ramakant Azaria, Bhawarlal Suhalka, P.S. Patel, Surya Prakash Suhalka, and Mani Ben Patel.
Dinesh Mali emphasized that Savitri Bai Phule was the first female teacher of India, making significant contributions in the fields of women’s empowerment, education, and social reform. She fought against child marriage, untouchability, and caste discrimination, and founded many schools for women’s education.
The event was moderated by Surya Prakash Suhalka, Rajendra Sen, and Namrata Chaudhary. All the presidents, vice presidents, and general secretaries were welcomed, and teachers were selected under the leadership of Bherulal Kalal.
