Narayanlal Salvi, President of the employees' union, stated that around 300 employees staged a demonstration outside the administrative office and remained on strike. Protesters locked the administrative building’s doors and chanted slogans throughout the day.
The employees revealed that they have not received their December salaries, and no orders have been issued for them to resume work from January. Four months ago, after a similar strike, it was assured that employees would be placed on contract by December 31 and the rules would be finalized. It was also promised that employees would not be hired through placement agencies. However, the university administration has once again failed to fulfill its commitments.
The strike caused significant disruption to administrative work. Students and their families, who had come for urgent matters like TC and migration certificates, faced considerable difficulties. All university operations have been severely affected.
The Registrar has assured that a decision will be made after the Vice-Chancellor's return. Until then, the employees have declared that the strike will continue.
