A five-day workshop was inaugurated at Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, under the joint aegis of the university and the Raja Ram Mohan Roy Library Foundation, Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The workshop is being organized under the National Library Mission to build the capacity of public library staff, with library heads from public libraries across the state participating in it.
The workshop will provide information on library management software, innovations, new subjects, technology, and effective use of information resources.
The coordinator of the workshop, Dr. P.S. Rajput, welcomed the guests and mentioned that the primary aim of this workshop is to strengthen the development of public libraries in Rajasthan and contribute to the country's growth.
Chief Guest Prof. A.P. Singh highlighted the role of the Raja Ram Mohan Roy Library Foundation in the development of public libraries and emphasized the need to expand this mission nationwide.
Special guest Dr. S.N. Sabat stated that the robust development of public libraries would strengthen the Indian knowledge tradition, and innovations such as artificial intelligence could take libraries to unprecedented heights.
Around 80 participants attended the workshop, and several prominent professors and dignitaries from the university were present.
