Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat Bids Farewell to Haj Pilgrims

Udaipur  — The Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat (Bohra Youth) from the reformist Bohra community organized a grand farewell ceremony for 44 Haj pilgrims on Sunday at the Jamaatkhana located in Boharwadi, Udaipur. Senior community members, relatives, and friends gathered to bid an emotional farewell to the departing pilgrims.

Spokesperson Mansoor Ali Odawala of the Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat stated that 44 pilgrims from Udaipur were honored during the event. Haj pilgrims, accompanied by their family members, began arriving at the Boharwadi Jamaatkhana from 10:30 a.m. onwards. Members of the Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat and the Dawoodi Bohra Haj Committee warmly welcomed the pilgrims with garlands and public felicitation.

After the recitation of the Holy Quran (Tilawat-e-Quran), a tribute was paid to the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, with a two-minute silence observed in their memory.

The program commenced with students of the School of Deeni Taleem reciting verses from the Quran. Following the tribute, Sahil Ahmed Byawarwala and Hussain Attari presented Naat and Manqabat. The event was smoothly conducted by Ali Asgar Khilonewala.

On this occasion, Mansoor Ali Commander, Chairman of the Central Board of Dawoodi Bohra Community, Patron Abid Adeeb, Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat President Iqbal Hussain Rassawala, and Secretary Firoz Hussain Teenwala addressed the gathering, requesting the pilgrims to pray for peace and prosperity for the community and the nation.

After the ceremony, a celebratory procession was taken out from the Boharwadi Jamaatkhana, accompanied by band performances. During the procession, Naatia Kalam was presented, and residents offered sherbet to the pilgrims while showering them with flower petals. The procession passed through major routes of Boharwadi and concluded at Masjid Rasoolpura, where a warm welcome with sherbet was again extended.

The event ended with the pilgrims performing Zohar Asr and Shukr prayers.
