Udaipur – Under the directives of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, a painting competition on the theme of cleanliness was organized for school students by the West Zone Cultural Centre (WZCC), Udaipur as part of the "Swachhta Pakhwada" campaign. Alongside, a seven-day "Waste to Wealth (Papier-mâché)" workshop also began at Shilpgram.
A total of 22 participants took part in the painting competition. Monil Audichya won the first prize, Sunil Meena secured second place, and Hailey Mehta stood third. Consolation prizes were awarded to Vaibhavi Vyas and Ashish Kalasua. The competition was judged by Neelofar Munir, Dr. Deepika Mali, and Dimple Chandat.
The papier-mâché workshop, featuring around 30 participants, was inaugurated on the same day. On the first day, expert Ramdev Meena taught the basics of the art, including paper soaking and making a base mix using Multani Mitti. Participants will learn to mold various figures on the second day. The workshop will continue till April 29.
