**Udaipur** – The Rajasthan Pradesh Congress, led by General Secretary and spokesperson Pankaj Kumar Sharma, held a special meeting today at the Congress Media Center in Dhanmandi to protest against the fishing contract issued for Udaipur’s historic and pristine Badi Lake.
The meeting aimed to express serious concern over the ecological balance and the preservation of the endangered *Mahseer* fish species found in the lake. Sharma stated, “Badi Lake is not just a source of water, but a symbol of our cultural and ecological heritage. Granting a fishing contract here is both unfortunate and unacceptable.”
He alleged that the Fisheries Department issued the tender secretly, reflecting a lack of transparency. Sharma asserted, “We cannot compromise the environment for minor financial gain,” and demanded that the Rajasthan government immediately revoke the fishing contract.
During the meeting, party workers held placards and staged a protest. Several Congress members, including Paras Jain, Atul Saraf, Jamna Giri, Dipesh Kumawat, Nitesh Sarraf, Chatru, and Prithviraj Gairi, were present in support of the cause.
